Our Mining and Mountain hike takes place a little further down Glenorchy highway and starts at the Mount Crichton loop track. Explore old mining sites, rock fissure's that once formed tailraces, an amazing waterfall and an authentic miner's hut built in the 1930's.

This hike take's approx 2-3hrs and is 7.5km long. There are many photo opportunities and is the perfect spot for your complimentary afternoon tea.

The Mining and Mountain hike is suitable for people with a moderate fitness level.

Native Forest and Cove Hike

This walk starts with a gentle descent amongst native bush of red and mountain beech trees and Manuka. The area attracts Bellbird, Tui and Wood Pigeon and often you'll hear the chatter of birds throughout the walk.

You'll walk along the shoreline of Bobs Cove, climb a rocky trail that leads to a lookout where the views will not disappoint! See the blue waters of Bobs Cove, Lake Wakatipu, Cecil Peak and the Remarkables Mountain Range.

There are historic lime kilns along the walk which offer an interesting insight into the history of the Wakatipu Lime Company who quarried and processed Bobs Cove Limestone.

This walk requires low to moderate fitness as the walk is undulating with some short steep sections.
